Vaccination Requirements for Traveling to Uganda & Mount Rwenzori

Vaccination is an important travel requirement in many countries, especially for visitors coming from places with high infection risks. After vaccination, you are given a card or certificate as proof. During the pandemic, many countries were very strict about the COVID-19 vaccine.

Today, some countries allow entry without it, but it is still important to confirm the latest requirements with your tour operator before travel. For Uganda, you must also ensure that you carry no illegal items and that you have all the necessary travel documents.

Before planning your trip to Uganda, the Pearl of Africa where Mount Rwenzori is found, you need to think about your health and safety. We recommend being vaccinated against diseases that are common in the country. One of the most important vaccines is for yellow fever.

This disease is found in many parts of Uganda, especially rural areas where medical services are limited. A yellow fever vaccination card will be required upon arrival.

Yellow fever is spread by mosquitoes, so you are also advised to carry insect repellent, wear long-sleeved clothes and pants, and choose accommodation with good mosquito protection such as nets or air conditioning.

Be prepared, stay safe, and enjoy your adventure to Mount Rwenzori.
