Looking towards the white snow of Mountain Rwenzori, you will find Kasese Airstrip. It receives visitors flying from Entebbe International Airport who are heading to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, or Rwenzori Mountains National Park. Using this airstrip makes your safari easier and more comfortable.
Several domestic airlines operate here, including Aerolink Uganda and Bar Aviation Uganda. They handle both scheduled and charter flights from Entebbe to Mweya or Kasese Airstrip, with flights in the morning and afternoon. The morning flight from Entebbe leaves at 7:00 am and arrives at Kasese at 10:05 am. After a short time, it returns to Entebbe. The afternoon flight leaves at 12:05 pm, with the return trip around 2:15 pm or 2:20 pm. Passengers are advised to check in at least 60 minutes before departure. If the schedule does not suit you, you can rebook another flight.
Kasese Airstrip also serves charter and private flights under the Civil Aviation Authority. Many travelers prefer return flights because they help them keep time for other important schedules beyond safaris. Road transport to western Uganda can take very long, but by air the journey takes only about one hour and thirty minutes.
